Keratoconus occurs when the cornea — the clear, dome-shaped front surface of the eye — thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape. This causes blurred vision and may cause sensitivity to light and glare.

Our optometrist, Yurisa Naidoo, has over 25 years of experience in the eye health sector. She serves as the Chairperson of the Professional Board for Optometry on the Health Professions Council of SA (HPCSA).
Yurisa has advanced diagnostic skills and practices with a special interest in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease and specialised contact lens fitting.
Yurisa's passion for community eye-health care has led to her establishing her practice in the busy township of Chatsworth in Durban.
